Advanced Course
This course is designed for writers who have already ventured into fiction writing or have attended some creative writing classes. It is designed to inspire you, to deepen your understanding of fiction, and help you shape and structure your work.
Each session will focus on more complex areas of fiction writing such as the motivation and psychology of characters, writing in different voices, sub-plots and complex narrative structures, and writing about difficult subjects. We will be using exercises, discussion, reading and feedback to help you find new ways of tackling problems and encourage you to explore new dimensions in your fiction. Students will have the opportunity to read "work in progress" and discuss individual areas of difficulty.
Advanced courses will take place in the attractive surroundings of the New Cavendish Club, 44 Great Cumberland Place, London W1, near Marble Arch tube. Our next courses start in October. If you would like to reserve a place, please choose from the options below:
There will be a maximum of 12 people on Advanced Courses. The total cost is £295 including VAT.
Cheques for the full amount must be received to ensure you have a place on the course. If you wish to cancel, we will refund the fee less £75 up to three weeks before the course begins. After this we regret we cannot offer refunds.
Occasionally a substitute teacher may be employed. We have never had to cancel a class, but in the unlikely event of this happening, a suitable alternative date will be arranged or a refund for that session given.
