Critical Workshop
This course of six three-hour sessions is a series of MA-style workshops with Naomi Wood, who is currently teaching on the Masters in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia. Writers will have the opportunity to receive in-depth critical feedback on their work, and will also be helped to develop their critical skills in analysing others' work. Participants' writing is circulated in advance of each session, enabling extended discussion. Each class will end with exercises designed to address issues which have arisen during the session. The last session will focus on how to present your work to agents and editors.
This course is aimed at writers who have a work in progress and will also give anyone who is considering taking a Masters in Creative Writing a taste of what it is like to workshop your novel.
The Critical Workshop takes place in the attractive surroundings of the New Cavendish Club, 44 Great Cumberland Place, London W1, near Marble Arch tube. Maggie Hamand, founder of The Maia Press, and Natalie Butlin from Christine Green Author's Agent will attend the last session and give an overview of the publishing industry.
