We will critique your short story, synopsis and three chapters, or novel and provide you with a 1,000 to 3,000 word report depending on the length of your submission.
Our reports are designed to help you to develop, structure and edit your work, rather than advise on suitability for publication. Our approach is constructive, aimed at pointing out the strengths and weaknesses in every aspect of your work. We will analyse your writing in terms of style, plot, narrative structure and pacing, and address issues such as point of view, characterisation and dialogue.
Depending on length, you should receive your report within 2-3 weeks of receipt of your manuscript.
Novels / Autobiography / Narrative non-fiction Price
1-2 page synopsis and,
- up to 10,000 words: £250
- up to 30,000 words: £375
- up to 70,000 words: £500
- for each additional 1,000 words: £10
Submission Package Report
- up to 10,000 words, cover letter and 1-2 page synopsis £300
Short Stories
- up to 3,000 words: £150
- for each additional 1,000 words: £20
Printing
We ask that you submit manuscripts by email and we charge 10p per page to cover the cost of printing (1.5 spaced with 12pt font) at our end.
Example
Total cost for a novel of 80,000 words on 250 pages:
£500 + £100 (10 x £10 additional words) + £25 (250 x 10p printing) = £625
